On July 2, 2024, Acting Consul-General of the Consulate-General of Uruguay in Chongqing, Valentín Turis, visited SISU with his delegation. Deputy Secretary of the SISU, Gou Chaoli, met with the guests.

Deputy Secretary Gou Chaoli expressed that SISU sought to develop cooperation with higher education institutions in Uruguay in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research, and faculty and student exchange programs. She also welcomed scholars, young students, and enterprise management personnel from Uruguay to study at SISU.

Acting Consul-General Valentín Turis stated that the Consulate General would serve as a bridge to continue promoting cooperation and exchanges between SISU and Uruguayan universities and businesses, and to recommend Uruguayan students to study at SISU.
