Mr. David Ferguson, senior editor of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration visits SISU to give a lecture

On the afternoon of April 26, 2021, Mr. David Ferguson, senior editor of CIPG and winner of the 2019 CIPG Outstanding Contributor Award, delivered a lecture entitled "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Translation" in the International Lecture Hall of Hongwen Building.

In the lecture, Mr. Ferguson expressed his views on China's international discourse and deeply analyzed the problems of China's international discourse system. Mr. Ferguson used examples to show the audiencesome common problems in the translation process. Such as misuse of vocabulary, adverb abuse and so on, and give some practical suggestions to Chinese translators. At the same time, he stressed that machine translation could not find such small problems at present, and only human beings could use their own wisdom to make corresponding solutions to make the translation more accurate and valuable. This greatly inspired the audience.
