On September 22th, the opening ceremony for the 2014 freshmen was held. The school leaders who participated in the ceremony include Secretary of Party Committee Ming Guohui, President Li Keyong, Vice Secretary of Party Committee Zhang Yan, Vice President Li Jianping, Vice Secretary of Party Committee and Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection Nie Zhiqiang, Vice Presidents Wang Lunan and Dong Hongchuan. Other main participants include the leaders of all related functional departments, the Party chiefs of all colleges, the 2014 freshmen and their counselors.
President Li Keyong has great expectations of the 2014 freshmen, saying in his welcoming speech which goes, “I hope that all of you could familiarize yourselves with the new environment as soon as possible and arrange your time for study and leisure properly. It would be even better if you could set up your long-term goal and combine it with the China Dream. Also, it is my sincere wish that all of you could maximize the favorable conditions provided by SISU and become talents that our country requires.” (translated by Feng Yuchu)
