On March 18, 2024, the Ambassador of Cuba to China, Alberto Blanco, and his delegation visited SISU.

President Dong Hongchuan expressed the hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with higher education institutions in Cuba, and welcomed Cuban professors, scholars, and students to visit SISU for academic exchanges.

Ambassador Blanco mentioned that this year marks the 60th anniversary of educational exchanges between China and Cuba. He expressed his desire to continue promoting cooperation between SISU and Cuban universities, helping cultivate more Spanish language professionals, and further enhancing China-Cuba relations.

After the meeting, Ambassador Blanco joined in a friendly exchange with the faculty and students of the School of Western Languages and Cultures.
