Ecuacorriente, a Chinese-funded copper and iron mining company in Ecuador, established a long-term cooperation with the Confucius Classroom of Siyuan Academia de Lengua China to carry out Chinese language teaching projects. Chinese teachers were regularly dispatched to the mining area to help local employees learn Chinese and better understand Chinese culture.

In addition to systematically learning Chinese language and Chinese culture, the students also can learn mining-related vocabulary and business management terminology. Besides, the teachers regularly assist experts to conduct training on management and professional skills.

In addition to providing Chinese courses for local employees, the “Chinese Classroom” has also entered the surrounding communities. Currently, four nearby elementary schools have introduced Chinese language courses, as well as traditional Chinese culture courses such as Chinese painting and paper cutting.
