On July 3rd, Paolo Nascimento, Ambassador of Republic of Portugal to China, and his delegation visited Sichuan International Studies University.

At the meeting, President Dong Hongchuan expressed SISU is always engaged in promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Portugal. He welcomed Portuguese students to study in SISU, and expressed his wish to establish Confucius Classrooms in Portugal.

Ambassador Paolo Nascimento especially pointed out the important role of universities in people-to-people exchanges between China and Portugal, and encouraged Chinese and Portuguese universities to strengthen exchanges between teachers and students and carry out study abroad programs.

After the meeting, Ambassador Paolo Nascimento had friendly talked with the teachers and students of Portuguese majors from the College of Western Languages and Cultures of our University.
